Metrics Management

We never thought that we would have developed have too many fitness assessments and tests until recently.

With over 60 assessments and calculations, the TrainerMetrics community let us know that it has been increasingly difficult to sift through all of the assessments and reports when trying to show class client results.

Now you can select exactly what assessments you want your account to display over every feature of TrainerMetrics including a Profile Overview, Fitness Testing, Metrics, and Reporting functionality.

To access these settings all you need to do is sign in to your account:

  • Click your name in the top right,
  • Select "Settings", and
  • Choose the "Metrics Management" tab, and
  • Uncheck all assessments that you want to hide.

This makes it simple to filter out every assessment and evaluation that doesn't make sense to your business or clients while keeping the ones that do.

Profile Reports v2

Profile reports got a new look as of today.

Instead of printing one-off reports, we updated your experience to provide flexibility in what you would like to include in your client Progress Reports.

We realized this was a total pain for trainers and most of them weren't providing their client's reports simply because it took too long and the couldn't assemble the reports that actually mattered.

Tip #1: Use the multi-select functionality to group all reports in a single PDF:

Tip #2: Any time you select more than one report, a cover page will be included:

Assembling different types of fitness reports is easier than ever. Whether you want to provide your client with recent updates, recommended corrective exercise, or blood pressure history, just select the reports and click "Print".

Movement Screens

Functional Movement Screens have arrived.

Over the last several years our customers have let us know how important Movement Screens are to their daily practice, and that they needed us to add the suite to TrainerMetrics:

  • Active Straight-Leg Raise
  • Shoulder Mobility
  • Rotary Stability
  • Trunk Stability Pushup
  • Inline Lunge
  • Hurdle Step
  • Deep Squat

Just like any other assessment, you can access the individual Movement Screens through Metrics as well as Testing so that you can quickly upload scores for each test.

Lastly, we wanted to make sure that not only could you record each score but also report on the final score. That said, if you Navigate to your profile Reports you will notice that we added a new report for Movement Screens that dynamically produces a Final Score using each Raw Score and Clearing Test.

We hope that this addition has made your daily practice easier now that you can store and report on results of all your Functional Movement needs.

Edit Goals

When we originally added Assessment Goal functionality a few months ago, the one issue was that a trainer wasn't able to set a goal date. This made it difficult to edit goal values or change the value if you made a mistake.

That said, we thought it would be easiest to first add a drop-down picker on the Edit Data button.

And then give you can access to every single goal value so that you can either revise your client's goal or delete it completely from the system.

FYI - This also means you can set a goal for a future date...

Custom Branding

Note: This feature is only available to Gym and Enterprise accounts.

How many times have you said to yourself (or someone else), "I wish I could update TrainerMetrics with my logo and colors?"

Well now you can, and its super easy.

All you need to do is navigate to your account settings and upload your brand's logo and primary color (hex). We'll take care of the rest.

Check out your reports. All of them have your logo presented in the top left corner:

Custom Branding is another way we are helping you deliver premium services to your client base and making sure you are getting the credit.

Fitness Testing Print Functionality

As trainers, we still use our clipboards. However, we realized that it was rather time-consuming to upload measurements to TrainerMetrics even though you can customize your own fitness test. Not to mention printing the assessment progress results of a fitness test took way too long.

That said, we decided to call a few of our customers and ask for help. The result was as easy as adding a print button to our Fitness Testing feature:

So what does the printing functionality do for you? As of today, you can export all assessment progress reports that are specific to any given fitness test in a single PDF (not 30+):

Second, print off a Testing Card to capture all measurements in a given fitness test making it faster to batch upload and calculate measurements (your clipboard has a new best friend):

Recent Metrics Report

There is no question that TrainerMetrics makes it incredibly efficient to calculate health and fitness results for clients. However, we noticed that we hadn't yet provided a way to produce a summary of all recent metrics calculated.

Today we release our first iteration of a summary report highlighting all recent metrics, goals, and classification norms for a given client.

Quick tip - print this report out (Profile > "Report") every time you complete a Fitness Test with your client.

Assessment Progress Reports

It was brought to our attention that providing digital access to client records is great, but when it comes down to effective communication, visual progress reports are valuable.

We thought so too and that is why we added a print button to every single assessment we offer so that you can export a PDF of your clients progress in seconds.

Quick tip - once you print out a report with your client, don't be afraid to pull out a pen or highlighter and start marking up the document.

Assessment Goals

We think everyone can agree that goal setting is the next step after evaluating a client's health and fitness. That said, today we released client goals so that you can track your client's progress and celebrate success! A few things to point out:

  1. You can now add goal data by clicking "Add Data" under Metrics

  2. Update all goal data at once under Profile Info

  3. Track client results to their goals

Quick tip - after taking an initial assessment with your client, check out the comparison charts to determine program goals and add that data to your client's record :)

PAR-Q

We've heard from the community that forms including the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire are details that you all would like to record in TrainerMetrics.

Now anytime a new profile is created, there is an option to complete a client's PAR-Q as well as update under Profile Info.

Notice that the PAR-Q label under the client's age will flip to a green check once all buttons are checked as "no", or remain as a red "x" if incomplete.
