July brings some major changes under the hood, with several improvements to the ways Syngency handles charges (such as agency fees) and inclusive fees.
Most noticeable are the changes to the Fees window. We have simplified the layout, removing the often-confusing Full Amount Paid To Talent option.
This was typically used when a flat agency fee was being charged, rather than a percentage.
Replacing it is a dropdown next to the agency fee (or other booking fee) where you can select either a percentage (%) or fixed amount ($):
You can also use fixed amounts for talent commissions:
Previously when you selected the Inclusive option for a fee, Syngency would adjust it to an amount which – when added to the amount of the charge percentage – would equal the original amount.
However, this functionality only supported the inclusion of one charge type (typically the Agency Fee), and in many cases, agencies require sales taxes and other charges to be included in the "inclusive" calculation.
You can now set a charge type under Fees & Taxes to be Included in "Inclusive" fees. Your primary "agency fee" is included by default, but you can now set this option for any sales taxes or additional charges you wish, and they will be factored into the "inclusive" calculation for any bookings which use it.
