We have working of few improvements to the editor to make it easier for you to complete your task on shotsnapp. Here is a quick list of what's available right now:
You can now resize and rotate an object directly on the canvas instead of having to fiddle with the controls in the right panel.
-
Previously, when you're working on your design in Sketch or Figma, you have to export the frame/artboard first before you can use them into shotsnapp. In this new update, you can just copy them to clipboard, go to shotsnapp, select a device object, then Cmd/Ctrl + V to paste the image. Hopefully, this will make your workflow faster, and reduce clutter on your Desktop.
In Figma, you can select a frame, then make sure to press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+C to copy a 2x flatten image version of your design.
In Sketch, you can click on an artboard, press Cmd/Ctrl + C to copy an 1x flatten image.
-
Sometimes you don't have the exact image size that can fit the objects' frame perfectly. So in this update, we are introducing a new cropping tool to let u choose which part of the image to be displayed on the device mockup. You can zoom to a certain part of the image too.
-
In this update, you no longer have to go to the right panel to change the content of your text. Double click on a text object to enter edit mode where you can immediately start typing.
-
We have implemented the standard keyboard shortcut to zoom your canvas without having to use your mouse.
p/s: Multi-touch pinch to zoom from your trackpad will be supported soon!
We have made a minor improvement to make dragging feels less laggy especially when you zoomed your canvas below 50%. Here's a GIF showing before and after the improvement.
We are in the process to improve and introduce more keyboard shortcuts into Shotsnapp. For this version, we've added the ability to duplicate an object on the canvas.
Similar to most major design softwares out there, you can select an object, press Control+D (or Command+D) to duplicate an object. Duplicated object will inherit the original object's properties like scale, colour, rotation and more.
We've also improved the efficiency of "Delete" action now.
Today, we are introducing a new object on Shotsnapp called Icons. You can now spice up your mockup image further by adding some useful icons along with other object, like Text.
You can access it from the Objects panel like the rest of the objects
Once clicked, a Star icon will be added on your canvas. From here, u can choose from our growing gallery of simple icons. Depending on your need, you can also change the color, size and rotation of the icon.
We will be growing our icon gallery from time to time. Feel free to suggest and request for specific icons by tweeting at us @tryshotsnapp. We hope you'll enjoy this new addition!
There was issue affecting the Text object when you're trying to change the line width property. We've fixed it 👏
As requested by some of our users, we've added the new iPhone 11 and Pixel 4 into the list of supported phone models.
