Data table indicator filter for "has no value" inconsistent on text fields - fixed!

Bug Fix

We've fixed an issue where the "has no value" filter would mistakenly filter out data table text fields that previously had a value that had since been deleted. Now whether the field has always been empty or is newly empty, it will register as "having no value" with regards to your indicator filters.

N.b. this only affected text fields where text was manually deleted in the user interface; text fields that were cleared out via import were not affected.

Change saved report owner

DevResults has enabled users to create and save reports. Now, you can change the ownership of a saved report, too. This makes it easy to transfer important reports to a new staff member if the original creator leaves your organization. The new owner can modify reports as needed.

Users who belong to a permission group with the owner role will see a Change owner option on the Saved Reports page. This allows the ownership of any report to be changed to any other user.

To do so, go to Data > Saved Reports. Select one or more reports and click Change owner. Then select a new owner and click Change.

You can read more about saved reports in our knowledge base.

Custom color palettes

Brand New!

New year, new feature: Custom color palettes. If you'd like to add a custom color palette to your DevResults site for your indicator graphs or pie charts, just let us know and we'll make it happen on our end. For each custom palette, we'll just need your choice of 10 colors using their hex values.

Filter to indicators with no activities

Brand New!

You can now filter the indicator index to find indicators that aren't assigned to any activities (or to find the indicators that are).

Keep in mind that indicators can't be assigned to activities if they're defined as not reported per activity.

Multi-line text entry for data tables

"Other text" fields in data tables now support multi-line, word-wrapped text entry, and can be resized to appear as large or small as you'd like.

Other text-based fields like Unique IDs will remain single-line entry, as they usually don't extend beyond the width of the data entry form.

This should make data entry easier when you have lots to say!

Targets Import

Brand New!

We're excited to announce the release of a new feature: Targets Import! Previously, each target needed to be added online. Now, you can export an Excel template, fill it out, and import all of your targets with ease.

There are three options for importing targets:

1. To add targets for one indicator for one activity:

  • On an indicator's targets page, use the top right dropdown to select a single activity.
  • Click on the gear icon and download a blank template and fill it out.
  • Then use the Import option from the same menu to add the targets to your site.

2. To add targets for one indicator (global targets and/or activity targets for more than one activity):

  • On an indicator's targets page, use the top right dropdown to show results for all activities.
  • Click on the gear icon and download a blank template. Fill it out and leave the Activity column blank for global targets.
  • Then use the Import option from the same menu to add the targets to your site.

3. To add targets for multiple indicators

  • Go to Tools > Bulk Imports and find the Indicator Targets section.
  • Use this template to add targets for multiple indicators at once. Leave the Activity column blank for global targets.

Minor: percentage labels added to pie charts

Weird we haven't done this earlier, but percentages are not explicitly labeled in the pie chart popover (when you put your mouse on a pie 'slice').

Expanded Bulk Imports Page

Check out the new additions to the bulk import page! There's now a one-stop shop for all the template/import options for adding program information throughout DevResults. This page might be useful to you if you manage a lot of site configuration, but all the tools still exist on the index pages for each section.

Activity Metadata Visualizations

Brand New!

Now you can create matrix reports, pie charts, and other graphical visualizations that capture activity metadata! Each graph can visualize activities by geography, status, mechanism, framework, sector, tag, user, organization, and other activity metadata.

Single sign-on users: redirect issue fixed

Bug Fix

A few SSO users were being constantly redirected to their user profile page; this issue has been fixed, and your initially intended destination should now be honored.
