Hey there ☀️

We just released a new version of the mobile app ! You'll find it on the AppStore or Google Play Store under the version number 2.0.2.

We've worked really hard to give you a new experience and we hope you'll like it !


What's new ?

Apart from the new design and new features, we also gave extra attention to the responsiveness of the app. You'll notice it even more on Android devices 🤖

But here is a non-exhaustive list of what's new. You'll notice a lot of other small things along the way.

You can also choose to pin your favorite filter on top of your conversation list.

You can now easily select a tag or a collaborator. Expand or shrink the contact/message results.


💬 Chat experience has been enhanced

⚡️ We added a quick bar action in the chat to close/reopen, star/unstar, assign/unassign a conversation. This will save you extra steps.

Hello y'all 👋

It's now possible to send media attachments with your approved WhatsApp Business Templates directly from Callbell ⚡️

What kind of media can I send with my template?

Callbell currently supports the following media templates:

  • Image (jpeg and png formats)
  • Document (pdf format)

You can either paste a URL (e.g. hosted in Dropbox) or upload a file from your computer.


What can I use this functionality for?

You can use this feature to send a personalized image to a new contact or a payment receipt to a customer during the weekend.

For example, here's how our an image template looks like in WhatsApp:

Contacts Module

Hello everyone 👋

We are proud to announce that we finally have a dedicated contacts module in our app 🎉

In this new section you'll be able to manage everything related to your contacts like:

  • Displaying
  • Searching
  • Filtering
  • Editing
  • Exporting Contacts

How do I use it?

In this module we have two different sections:

  1. Contacts
  2. Exports

1. Contacts tab

In Contacts, you can find anything related to the contacts. The list of contacts is paginated and by clicking on the row it opens a detailed view of the selected contact. Here, you can edit the contact, add new info or update existing ones.

You can update the name, tags, the note and the custom fields from here.

In the search-bar you can search by name or phone number

Talking about filters, you can filter the results by integration, tags and conversation owner (if any collaborator is assigned related conversation) You can chose between more tags to filter, multiple integrations but only one assigned owner.

Next to the filters we have and edit section for the table itself where you can chose some extra columns to display. The defaults here are name, phone number, source and created on which can't be removed.

In both cases, whenever a filter or more, or some extra columns are enabled the button will turn into green (active)

2. Exports tab

In Exports you can create exports of the existing contacts in two different file types, CSV and JSON.

Since this operation might take some time depending on the total amount of contacts that you can have, we will inform you with an email whenever the export it's ready for the download.

The download expires after 5 days, after this time you'll need to create a new one.

Automatic Bot Restart 🔃

Hello everyone 👋

We just released a new automatic routing action called bot restart:

This action allows to automatically restart a bot conversation whenever the user select a specific choice.

How can I use this new action?

This action is extremely helpful whenever you want to keep the user in the bot loop without having to move it to another team inbox; for example, you can use this action to qualify or exclude leads depending on the answer they give to the bot.

How do I configure it?

If you want to test out the bot restart just follow those steps:

  1. Go to your automatic routing configuration page

  2. Add a new reply by clicking on the "add reply button". You can also edit an existing reply if you want

  3. Select the Restart Bot action from the select dropdown

Two-Factor Authentication 🔐

Hi all 👋

We just released an important feature which will help you in securing your Callbell account: Two-Factor (2FA) Authentication!

How to enable it?

  1. Go to your user settings section (https://dash.callbell.eu/settings
  2. Click on the "Configure 2FA" button in the "Two-Factor" authentication screen
  3. Scan the QR code using any authenticator apps (see below for tips 👇)
  4. Confirm on the right form that you want to enable 2FA by typing a code from the app + your current password
  5. Download the recovery codes and store them somewhere safe

Which authenticator apps should I use?

In order to scan the 2FA QR code you can use any free Two-Factor app such as Google Authenticator or Authy.

What will change by enabling 2FA on my account?

The next time you login a new screen will ask you for a 2FA code. Open your authenticator app inside your phone, type your code and you should be good to go 🚀

Why do I need to store security codes?

If you lose your device then you can use one of the recovery codes to login inside your Callbell account and enable a new device.

Custom Fields section (⚙️ settings)

Custom Fields (for contacts) 👥

Hello everyone 👋

We just added a new feature in the contacts preview section, Custom Fields

It is now possible to add new useful info to the contact by using this new functionality:

As shown in the video, the custom fields can be added by clicking on the + icon. It takes a field and a value to create a new one.

By clicking on the ⚙️ icon, the value can be updated or deleted. Clicking out outside of the input triggers the update. Deleting removes the value of the custom field but the custom field is still available.

Some important info regarding this feature:

  • New Custom fields can be created only by users with settings permissions enabled.
  • Custom fields can be displayed and edited by all collaborators.
  • All custom fields are available for all the contacts, meaning that they will be present and available for all the contacts, but with no value unless this is added:

Move conversation into another inbox (optional steps)

We just added more flexibility when moving a conversation from one team inbox to anothe:

When moving a conversation you can optionally select one of the following behaviors:

  • Assign conversation to another collaborator before moving it (useful whenever you want to assign to a specific agent belonging to another team)
  • Unassign conversation (available only if conversation is assigned to you and if you want )
  • Move without changes (default)

Track conversations actions (🤖/👤)

Hello everyone 👋

We just enhanced 💅 the system messages in the conversations by updating the color (grey) in order to distinguish them from internal notes (yellow), but most importantly you can now understand who performed the action!

This way there are no surprises 😇

By hovering on the user icon you can see if the action was performed by a user 👤 or if it was automatically taken by the system 🤖
